Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat issued orders under the Preventive Detention Act to detain Anil Kumar Pandey, a Delhi native who aided a Nigerian gang in duping people in the guise of providing foreign funds and matrimony alliances.
Police said Pandey (36), from Uttam Nagar in Delhi, came into contact with Nigerian nationals who used to give their debit cards to him for withdrawing money. They offered a commission on the withdrawn money. He quit his job and joined the Nigerian gang and collected Rs 24.5 lakh by cheating people. The PD Act order was executed on Pandey at the Central Prison in Cherlapally.
