Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Monday caught a Deputy Tahsildar red-handed when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 70,000.
The official, Shaik Javeed, working on deputation with Civil Supplies, Miryalguda, had initially demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a person to “conduct panchnama report of three seized vehicles in order to get release order from Joint Collector court.”
Javeed later reduced the bribe amount to Rs 70,000. On Monday, he was caught red-handed by the ACB when he accepted the bribe amount.
The official is being produced before the ACB Court, Hyderabad.
