Hyderabad: Director of Medical Education (DME) Dr K Ramesh Reddy has on Monday clarified that claims by some media outlets, that three Covid-19 patients died due to lack of oxygen at the District Hospital in King Koti, were not correct.
“The King Koti Hospital has adequate stocks of oxygen supplies. At present, the hospital has 13 KL of liquid oxygen tank storage and for backup, we have bulk cylinders. The three patients were on assisted ventilation and in a critical condition. The prognosis was explained to patient attendants at the time of admission,” Dr Ramesh Reddy said.
“The storage capacity of oxygen in the hospital is adequate for take care of hospital supplies for two days. The oxygen is filled on regular basis every day. The news is not correct and it is tarnishing the name of a hospital, which is a designated Covid treatment centre and has been serving positive patients for over a year,” he said.
“Our appeal to common people is not to get panic seeing such news. There is adequate oxygen supply in the hospital and best possible treatment is given to thousands of cases till now and a majority are cured and discharged without problem,” the DME added.
