Hyderabad: A doctor working at the Chest Hospital was attacked by the relatives of a Covid patient on Sunday.
According to the police, the victim Dr Krishnan Namboothiri, (29) a PG student has been with the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at Government Chest Hospital, Erragadda for the last one year.
On Sunday afternoon the doctor got a call from the Covid ward and immediately went to the patient.
“The doctor examined a patient Habeebunnisa and explained her condition to the attendants of the patients. Meanwhile, A person Jilani along with six others attacked him resulting in injuries,” said V Ramesh, sub inspector, S R Nagar police station.
On a complaint made by the doctor the police booked a case under 332 r/w 34 of Indian Penal Code and took up investigation.
