Hyderabad doctor harassed, extorted by man met on dating app
A 25-year-old doctor in Hyderabad was allegedly harassed and extorted by a man he met on a dating app. The accused assaulted him, threatened exposure, and extorted ₹8,000 before police in Madhapur registered a case and began investigation.

Hyderabad: A young doctor was allegedly harassed and extorted by a man whom he had met through a dating app in Madhapur.
As per available information, the 25-year-old doctor, residing in Parvath Nagar and working at a private hospital, became acquainted with a 26-year-old man staying in a hostel at Ayyappa Society on a dating app.
After chatting for about two weeks, they decided to meet and went to a hotel in Ayyappa Society on September 21.
During the meeting, the man allegedly tried to force the doctor into sexual activity. When the doctor refused, he was assaulted and threatened that the incident would be exposed.
Out of fear, the doctor handed over cash of Rs 5,000. Later, the suspect followed him to the hospital and created a scene, then went to the doctor’s residence and demanded more money, forcing him to pay another Rs 3,000.
With the harassment continuing, the victim lodged a complaint with Madhapur police, who have registered a case and are investigating.
