Hyderabad: The Dundigal Police have solved a major jewellery burglary case, arresting three suspects from Rajasthan and Telangana and recovering nearly 15 kg of stolen silver ornaments, police announced here on Monday.
The arrested persons are Chetan Prakash of Secunderabad, Sirajuddin of Ajmer in Rajasthan and Kalu Kag alias Kaluram of Medchal.
The case pertains to a break-in reported at Someshwar Jewellery shop in Bowrampet, where unidentified offenders entered the shop by drilling a hole through the shutter of an adjacent vacant premises in the early hours of November 8.
According to the police, the trio had rented the vacant shutter beside the jewellery store to execute the plan. They allegedly arrived in a Bolero vehicle, used a crowbar to break into the shop and fled with around 15 kg of silver.
Investigators traced and arrested Chetan Prakash and Sirajuddin in Rajasthan on November 19, while Kaluram was caught at Bahadurpally on November 26.
Police recovered 3.5 kg of silver from Kaluram and seized the remaining stolen property from the other two suspects in Bengaluru.
Efforts are underway to nab three more suspects who are absconding.
