Hyderabad: EAGLE Force busts interstate ganja network, three arrested
The EAGLE Force and LB Nagar police have busted an interstate ganja supply network and arrested three people while allegedly attempting to deliver six kg of ganja. Police have identified six consumers and are searching for four others linked to the network.
HYDERABAD: The EAGLE Force, in coordination with the LB Nagar police, has busted an interstate ganja supply network and apprehended a woman supplier and two others while allegedly attempting to deliver six kilograms of ganja worth Rs 3 lakhs at LB Nagar in the early hours of Monday.
The arrested suspects were identified as Sunitha Nag (30), a resident of Bastar in Chhattisgarh; Pojja Dirdo, also from Bastar; and Manchala Rajesh (27), a mason from Annaram village in Vangur mandal of Nagarkurnool district.
According to the police, Sunitha had allegedly been procuring ganja from her cousin Lakhan, who is based in Malkangiri, and supplying it to customers in Hyderabad. Since the beginning of 2026, she was allegedly purchasing the contraband for about Rs 3,500 a kg and selling it for around Rs 14,000 a kg.
Sandeep Shandilya, Director, EAGLE Force, said Sunitha and Dirdo travelled to Hyderabad after procuring the 6-kg consignment on Sunday. They reached LB Nagar around 4 am on Monday and contacted a customer, Satyanarayana alias Satya alias Satti.
When Sunitha and Dirdo allegedly began handing over the consignment, the EAGLE Force and LB Nagar police intercepted them. Satyanarayana reportedly fled from the spot, while Rajesh, who had allegedly arrived to receive the consignment, was apprehended, said the official.
Six consumers have so far been identified.
The police also found that Dirdo had allegedly been arrested by Raipur police in 2025 in possession of 10 kg of ganja.
Lakhan, Satyanarayana, Mallesh and Shivashankar are absconding. The police are investigating the network to identify additional suppliers and consumers and trace the financial transactions.
