Hyderabad: Eight persons were arrested by the Balapur police for their alleged involvement in the murder of a rowdy sheeter Ilyas Nawab reported on Sunday.
The arrested persons are Saleh Bin Hafeez Mahrooz, Abu Bakar Bin Hafeez, Ismail Bin Abdul Aziz, Jaffer Bin Hawail, Baber Hamdi, Shaik Majid Al Hasan, Ibrahim Mohammad Bin Abdul Aziz Al Kaseri and Munasir Amer Barasith.
LB Nagar Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sunpreet Singh, announcing the arrest of the persons said the prime suspect Saleh Bin Mahrooz is into the business of supplying construction material and buying disputed lands.
In 2019, Ilyas Nawab came in contact with Saleh Bin Mahrooz and together they started real estate business. During the business, Ilyas Nawab sold a plot without informing Saleh Bin Mahrooz resulting in differences between them which were later resolved in the presence of elders. A few months ago, Ilyas Nawab occupied an open plot in Chandrayangutta and installed closed circuit cameras which were damaged by some persons and Ilyas suspected Saleh Bin Mahrooz for it. He called up Saleh Bin Mahrooz over phone and threatened to kill him.
“Fearing for his life, Saleh Bin Mahrooz along with the seven others hatched a plan to eliminate Ilyas Nawab. On Sunday, all the eight persons attacked Ilyas Nawab near his house with knives and sticks resulting in his death,” said the DCP.
The police seized eight mobile phones, four motorcycles, two knives and a wooden stick from them.
