Hyderabad: Fake paneer racket busted, 300 kg seized at Keesara
The Malkajgiri SOT and food safety officials seized nearly 300 kg of suspected fake paneer from two autorickshaws at Keesara and arrested two men. The consignment, allegedly meant for hotels and restaurants, has been sent for laboratory testing as investigations continue.
Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri Special Operations Team (SOT), along with food safety officials, busted an alleged adulterated paneer supply racket and seized nearly 300 kg of suspected fake paneer from two autorickshaws at Keesara on the city outskirts on Wednesday.
Police arrested two men who were allegedly transporting the consignment for distribution to hotels, restaurants and local vendors.
Officials suspect the paneer was prepared using substandard ingredients and could pose serious health risks if consumed. It was being transported from Yadadri-Bhongir district into the city.
The seized stock has been handed over for laboratory testing.
Authorities are also probing the source of the consignment and trying to identify others involved in the supply network.
