Hyderabad: Families of home guards taken into custody for staging protest at Indira Park

The police who had prior knowledge of the protest took the women into custody near Indira Park and shifted them to the police station

Hyderabad: The police took into custody a group of women, who are relatives of the home guards, while they were attempting to stage a protest at Indira Park.

According to reports, the women from different districts of Telangana came to the city to meet the higher officials of the police department. They demand the government regularise the services of the home guards and hike their wages.


They also demanded that the government provide employment to a member of the family of the home guards who passed away while in service.

The police who had prior knowledge of the protest took the women into custody near Indira Park and shifted them to the police station.

The City Armed Reserve and local police are deployed in large numbers at Dharna Chowk Indira Park to thwart attempts by families of home guards to hold any protest.

When contacted a police official of Domalguda police station said that women did not obtain any permission for holding a protest at Indira Park.
