Hyderabad: Father and daughter die of electrocution while clearing rain debris in Alwal

A father and daughter died after being electrocuted while clearing fallen tree branches in Hyderabad’s Alwal following heavy rains. Police suspect snapped electric cables caused the incident. The victim’s wife also suffered burns, and an investigation is underway.

Hyderabad: A father and daughter died due to electrocution at Telecom colony in Alwal on Saturday morning. According to the police , the man Sandeep (44) and his daughter Rithika (16) stayed at Telecom colony in Alwal.

On Saturday, Sandeep’s family was clearing branches of trees fallen on the road outside their house due to heavy rains last night when the duo got electrocuted and collapsed. Both of them died on the spot.


The wife of Sandeep suffered burns in the incident. On information the police reached the spot and shifted the bodies for postmortem to Gandhi Hospital mortuary.

The police registered a case. The police suspect electricity cables snapped and had fallen on the road and the duo came in contact with it and suffered electrocution. Further details awaited.
