The fire started likely after some persons had thrown a lighted cigarette at the place

Hyderabad: A fire broke out in the Musi River course at MGBS metro station on Tuesday evening.

According to the fire officials, the fire started in the wild vegetation growth in the Musi River bed and rapidly spread in a vast area.

On information the fire officials rushed a fire tender from the nearby fire station to the spot. The fire officials doused the fire within half an hour.

The officials suspect that the fire started after some persons had thrown a lighted cigarette at the place.
