Hyderabad: Fire broke out in an apartment complex in the upscale Puppalguda locality near Manikonda on Saturday morning leading to a scare. None was injured in the fire mishap. Fire service personnel fought for over an hour to control the leaping flames with much difficulty.

Initial reports indicated that the a cooking gas cylinder exploded, but it was not clear whether the explosion took place after fire broke out or the explosion led to the fire in an apartment on the fifth floor of A1 block of Golden Oriole apartment complex. The inmates of the house managed to escape as the flames swept through the house.

Panicked residents of apartments on other floors and in other blocks rushed out as leaping flames quickly engulfed the apartment.
