Hyderabad: Panic prevailed for a while at a private hospital in Kukatpally after a fire mishap late on Monday night. No casualties were reported in the incident.
According to the fire officials, a call was received of fire mishap by the department around midnight and soon a fire tender from Kukatpally fire station was sent to the spot. Two more fire tenders were later rushed to the place.
The incident took place at Sri Sri holistic hospital located at Nizampet around 11.30 p.m. The staff noticed smoke coming out from the electrica room located on the ground floor and immediately started rushing out a few patients who were present in the nearby ward.
Initially, the hospital security personnel along with a few locals tried to extinguish the small fire but as the efforts failed they alerted the fire department. As precautionary measures, patients from all the wards of the hospital were shifted to a nearby hospital, a few patients were seen being carried away on hands by their relatives.
The power supply to the building was disconnected soon after the incident and ambulances were seen rushing to the spot to shift the patients.
Senior officials of the fire department and the local police rushed to the spot. Huge crowd gathered near the hospital after coming to know about the incident.
