Hyderabad: Inflows into the twin reservoirs of Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar surged on Friday, prompting authorities to open the floodgates. The rise in water levels followed heavy rainfall in the catchment areas.
The Hyderabad district administration has advised residents living downstream to remain alert and follow safety instructions.
According to officials, inflows began increasing on Thursday night and continued through Friday, making the opening of the floodgates necessary to regulate water levels.
