Hyderabad: Fraudster held for duping man of Rs 4.4 crore
According to the CCS, Ramesh Babu, business manager of a medical devices manufacturer in Tamil Nadu, was approached by one Daniel Solomon of Hyderabad for supply of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment for his diagnostic centre in 2019.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Central Crime Station police arrested one R Ramesh Babu from Tamil Nadu for duping a man of Rs 4.4 crore, here on Monday. According to the CCS, Ramesh Babu, business manager of a medical devices manufacturer in Tamil Nadu, was approached by one Daniel Solomon of Hyderabad for supply of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment for his diagnostic centre in 2019.
Ramesh Babu agreed to supply the equipment and Daniel Solomon paid Rs 4.2 crore to the former through bank transaction. However, after receiving the money, Ramesh neither delivered the equipment nor returned the money, and went absconding.
Inquiries revealed Ramesh had cheated one Bala Murugan from Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu of Rs 10 lakh in similar fashion. On information that he was in Krishnagiri, a special team reached there. However, Ramesh escaped from Krishnagiri to Dharmapuri, and from there to Salem, Thanjavur and to Trichy. The police finally tracked and arrested him with the assistance of the Chennai Police and brought him to Hyderabad. He was produced before court here.
