Hyderabad: Furious over the way they were treated by police personnel, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) from across Telangana State demanded unconditional apology from Sultan Bazaar ACP Shankar and CI Srinivasa Chari, accusing them of misbehavior and verbal abuse.

The ASHA workers have warned of further intensifying their protests across Telangana State if their demands are not met. The ASHA workers said that even after one ASHA worker collapsed, the police dragged her without any concern. They alleged that the police ignored the pleas of another ASHA worker who was unwell and intentionally delayed to take her to a hospital.
