Hyderabad: Ganesh idol immersion continues Sunday, 2.61 lakh idols immersed up to 7 am
Hyderabad witnessed the immersion of 2.61 lakh Ganesh idols by 7 a.m. on Sunday, marking the second day of the annual festival. GHMC officials reported heavy participation across zones, with Hussain Sagar and Necklace Road among the busiest immersion points.

Hyderabad: The immersion of Ganesh idols continued for the second consecutive day on Sunday, with a total of 2.61 lakh idols being immersed by 7 am.
A large number of tuskars, trucks, heavy load vehicles, trollies, mini trucks and DCMs queued up between Telugu Thalli Flyover, the Secretariat, NTR Gardens, Necklace Road and nearby water bodies as part of the ongoing idol immersion operations. Cranes continued to operate at designated points related to the immersion activities.
GHMC officials reported that despite the early hour, significant crowds gathered at various immersion sites, including popular locations such as Hussain Sagar Lake and Necklace Road.
The annual immersion festival, marking the culmination of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, saw widespread participation across the city.
Participation in idol immersion was overwhelming this year compared to last year, according to a senior GHMC official.
According to the data on idols’ immersion released by GHMC officials, a total of 261,333 Ganesh idols were immersed on Sunday. The idols varied in size from 1.5 to 3 ft and above.
