Hyderabad: The last of the five gates of Himayat Sagar that were lifted to allow flood water during the recent heavy rains in the city and outskirts, was closed on Tuesday.
Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) closed the gate as the reservoir was hardly receiving inflow of water.
Out of the 17 gates, five gates were lifted on July 20 to drain the flood water into Musi. When the rains started receding, HMWSSB gradually started closing the gates of the reservoir based on the inflow of water into Himayat Sagar.
On Tuesday, the water level at Himayat Sagar was recorded at 1,761.02 feet against the FTL of 1,763.50 feet. The reservoir capacity is 2.97 TMC and the water level is 2.56 TMC.
