Hyderabad gears up for Milad-un-Nabi celebrations
Preparations for Milad-un-Nabi have gained momentum across Hyderabad, with blood donation camps, religious gatherings and welfare programmes planned at various locations. The Markazi Milad Juloos Committee is also making arrangements for the central procession scheduled for August 26.
Hyderabad: Preparations for Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Mohammed, have gained momentum across Hyderabad with several religious and social programmes being planned in the run-up to the celebrations.
As part of the preparations, a blood donation camp was organised at Vijayanagar Colony in the city on Sunday, where several people came forward and donated blood. Similar welfare programmes are lined up at various places across the city in the coming days, including one at Asafia Library, Afzalgunj, and other venues.
Religious gatherings are also scheduled to be held at mosques and auditoriums as part of the Milad-un-Nabi celebrations. Meanwhile, the Markazi Milad Juloos Committee is engaged in making arrangements for the central procession to be taken out on August 26, and is in the process of obtaining necessary permissions and clearances from the authorities.
According to the committee members, the route of the central Milad procession will remain the same as last year. The procession is expected to begin after the Zohar (afternoon) prayers from the historic Mecca Masjid. It will pass through Gulzar Houz, Madina Building, Salar Jung Museum, Darul Shifa, Purani Haveli, Kotla Alijah and Bibi Bazaar before concluding near Volta Hotel.
Meanwhile, arrangements are also under way for the annual Jalsa Rahmatulil Alameen organised by the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) on the eve of Milad-un-Nabi. The public meeting is expected to witness participation from Islamic scholars representing different sects and schools of thought, who will speak on the life and teachings of Prophet Mohammed.
