Hyderabad gears up for Sri Ram Navami celebrations

For the celebrations that begin early in the morning, temples, particularly of Lord Rama and Hanuman, have been refurbished with new paints and decorated with vibrant flowers and bright lights.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad is all set to witness a grandeur Sri Ram Navami celebrations as the temples across the City geared up for the celestial wedding ceremony that will take place on Sunday.

For the celebrations that begin early in the morning, temples, particularly of Lord Rama and Hanuman, have been refurbished with new paints and decorated with vibrant flowers and bright lights.


The Sitarambagh Temple, one of the famous temples in the city, has made large scale arrangements for the Sita Rama Kalayanam. Apart from Lord Sriram and Hanuman temples, the other key shrines have also made elaborate arrangements for holding Kalyanam.

The ceremony, which will take place in the morning, is expected to draw thousands of devotees to temples.

Apart from temple managements, several residential welfare associations and several households are holding the Kalyanam in their respective colonies and homes. The devotees consider this period as auspicious for seeking blessings for health, wealth, and prosperity.

Following the Kalyanam at Sitarambagh temple, a Shobha Yatra will take place, which is expected to attract a large number of people.

The procession, which commences from the temple at Mangalhat, will proceed via Puranapool Gandhi Statue, Jummerath Bazaar, Siddiamber Bazaar, Afzalgunj, Gowliguda, Koti Andhra Bank cross roads, and conclude at Hanuman Vyamshala Ground.

To ensure security for the Shobha Yatra, around 20,000 police personnel will be deployed along the procession route. In addition, the police will deploy drones and CCTVs to monitor the Yatra.
