Hyderabad: If pink is your colour and you love flowers, then La Vie En Rose Café in Sainikpuri is the place for you to be. Being tagged as the first pink-themed café in Hyderabad, you and your girl gang can get Instagram-worthy pictures by the floral walls begging to be photographed. Not just that, I feel it’s also the best spot to go on your next date.

From tissues, cutlery, and air coolers and conditioners to the seating and the lights, everything is drenched in hues of pink. You can also pose with a couple of pink flamingo sculptures. Coming to the food, the menu again has several pink-themed dishes and drinks such as Rose Mocha, Rose Lime Soda, Pink Sauce Pasta, Strawberry Pancakes and Milkshake, Cakesicle and Sundae in Clouds. The best part, however, is that most of the desserts and drinks are topped with cotton candy! And if you feel like reliving your childhood, you can order just the cotton candy which is priced at Rs 99.

The idea to start La Vie En Rose occurred to Likhitha Samineni, Avirneni Jyothirmayee, and Sharath Kumar while the trio was studying in Australia. “We saw a café in Melbourne with a pretty pink wall and we loved it! So, when we moved back to Hyderabad, we thought why not start a café with entirely the same theme. Of course, we improvised a lot with the interiors and did numerous food trials before starting it on March 5. We are overwhelmed with the response as people are travelling all the way from Medak to visit the café. And not just women, even men are proudly getting clicked amidst the pink theme. We’ve also been noticing some families enjoying the space. For those who are not fans of pink, we have a rooftop section with a blue theme,” shared 27-year-old Likhitha, adding that there’s just too much women power at the café as the waiters are all women.

‘Life in pink’

The French phrase La Vie En Rose means ‘life in pink’ or ‘life seen through rose-coloured glasses’ in English, which the trio thought was a perfect name for the place. However, the café doesn’t serve everything in pink as there are regular beverage and food options like cappuccino, latte, hot chocolate, tea and mojito and burger, pizza, sandwiches, and rice bowl. For the health-conscious lot, there are salad bowls and wellness lattes without caffeine. The naked burgers without buns are a must-try. The price range is affordable with an average cost for two people being Rs 800-1,000. The cafe has also tied up with a home baker and together they undertake birthday and other party orders.

Lastly, if you’re a Harry Potter fan like me, I bet you will be reminded of Dolores Umbridge’s office the moment you walk into the café.
