Hyderabad: Around 100 policemen were deployed at the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) on Tuesday following repeated protests by various students organizations after 51 per cent of the Intermediate first year students failed to clear their examinations.
Police personnel from local police stations, City Armed Reserve, Telangana State Special Police and the Commissioner’s Task Force teams were deployed at the BIE office following a bandh call by the ABVP.
The students are demanding that the government give grace marks and pass the students who failed to clear the intermediate first year examinations or conduct a re-evaluation of the answer scripts. Since the last two days, student groups are making desperate attempts to lay seige to the intermediate board office to press for their demands.
