Hyderabad hospitals mark World Heart Day with walks, awareness events
Private hospitals in Hyderabad organised walks, awareness sessions and fitness activities on Tuesday to mark World Heart Day. Events included Yashoda Hospitals’ ‘1 Minute Heart Challenge’, CARE Hospitals’ awareness walk, a new valve clinic and campaigns highlighting cardiovascular risks.

Hyderabad: A series of events related to heart health, including walks, awareness talks, and events encouraging people to lead active lifestyles, were organised by private hospitals in Hyderabad on Tuesday, on the occasion of World Heart Day.
Yashoda Hospitals conducted “1 Minute Heart Challenge” in various parts of Hyderabad, encouraging children, youngsters, professionals, homemakers and senior citizens to actively take part in activities such as treadmill running, stationary cycling, skipping, push-ups and other exercises.
Yashoda Hospitals Director Dr Pavan Gorukanti said, “Through this challenge, we wanted to show that every minute of movement counts and encourage people to take the first step towards a healthier heart and a healthier life.”
CARE Hospitals organised an awareness walk titled ‘Time to Break Up’, urging people to leave behind habits that risk heart health, at its Hitec City, Malakpet and Musheerabad hospitals. Medicover Hospitals, Financial District, launched a dedicated Specialised Valve Clinic that will be led by Dr Sharath Reddy Annam, Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, while Renova Hospitals, Lungar Houz, organised a 3K walkathon from Bapu Ghat to Dargah.
In a session on heart health, specialists from Kamineni Hospitals, LB Nagar, called for greater awareness of cardiovascular risk among younger adults. Star Hospitals, Hyderabad, collaborated with HMDA to launch the ‘Heart Dharna’ campaign and established unique installations at the busy Nanakramguda Circle.
