An “alarming” number of young patients in the Gulf region are suffering heart attacks and are being diagnosed with cardiovascular disease, according to medical professionals, with the onset of the illness being noticed in people about 10-15 years earlier here than in other parts of the world.
Speaking on the occasion, Santosh opined that people were diagnosed with cardiac ailments as they were not following healthy food habits and leading sedentary lifestyles.
World Heart Day is annually observed on September 29 to raise awareness of diseases related to the heart, and also to work on solutions to mitigate it.
