Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his estranged second wife over a family dispute at their house in Venkatannaguda in Chevella on Tuesday night.

As per available information, V Jangaiah, a resident of Venkatannaguda, has two wives. While living with his first wife, he married Rajitha 15 years ago. The couple has two children, but Rajitha separated from him three years ago.

On Monday, Jangaiah brought Rajitha to Venkatannaguda and met her in the presence of village elders. When he tried to persuade her to reconcile, she refused.

Bearing a grudge, on Tuesday, in a drunken state, Jangaiah allegedly strangled Rajitha with a scarf and struck her chest with a cement slab, killing her on the spot.

He later reportedly sent photos of Rajitha’s body to his first wife, claiming he had killed her, and then reported the incident to the village sarpanch before going to the police station and surrendering.

The Chevella police are investigating the case.
