Hyderabad: Hydraa officials on Saturday demolished encroachments, including iron sheds and boundary walls constructed on government land in Shathamrai village, Shamshabad mandal, and reclaimed the area.
According to Hydraa, the 12 acres of government land was valued at Rs 500 crore in the current real estate market. In 2011, the government had allocated the land to the Board of Intermediate Education.
Hydraa said a local realtor firm had claimed ownership of the land and erected signboards on the site. After the Board of Intermediate Education filed a complaint, Hydraa officials investigated the matter and confirmed the encroachment.
Hydraa teams deployed JCBs to clear the encroachments on government land and installed a signboard on the reclaimed area, Hydraa said in a release.
