Hyderabad: The assurances by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and HYDRAA that real estate ventures with valid permits would not be demolished have infuriated displaced families who lost their dream homes despite having proper documentation.
Families and homeowners in Erla Cheruvu and Sunnam Cheruvu, whose houses were demolished by HYDRAA, are now demanding answers from the State government. They questioned who would compensate for their losses and whether HYDRAA had the courage to justify the demolition of their homes. “Despite providing all necessary legal documentation, our homes were demolished without any compassion. Now that the damage is irreversible and we’re left homeless, the Chief Minister and HYDRAA are assuring everyone that houses with valid permits won’t be demolished. So, who will compensate us for the destruction we’ve endured?” members of displaced families in Erla Cheruvu asked.
There are numerous families near Sunnam Cheruvu in Madhapur and Erla Cheruvu at Madinaguda, Hafizpet division, whose just-constructed independent buildings, which were built only after procuring all valid documents, were demolished by HYDRAA a month ago.
Displaced families in Erla Cheruvu, who possess a complete set of documents with legitimate permits from all municipal departments, have faced devastating losses. One family, having acquired three plots of 266 square yards based on genuine documentation and permissions from the local municipal and town planning wings, had constructed their dream home.
Tragically, HYDRAA teams demolished their home on August 10, just days before its planned inauguration on August 19. “Despite valid documents, our homes were demolished without any regard for the law,” the displaced families in Erla Cheruvu lamented. “Now, HYDRAA is issuing statements promising that buildings with valid permits won’t be demolished. Who will compensate us for the mental anguish we’ve suffered, they asked.
