Hyderabad: IJU to hold national executive panel meet on Oct 23, 24

Hyderabad: The National Executive committee meeting of Indian Journalists Union (IJU) will be held in Hyderabad on Saturday and Sunday. This will be a physical meet and the first meeting to be organised in Hyderabad after formation of Telangana. The meeting will be attended by representatives of all states and union territories including Assam and Ladakh, the IJU president K Sreenivas Reddy said here on Thursday.

The two-day NEC meeting will deliberate on the issues concerning the profession of journalism, freedom of the press, growing attacks on working journalists and media houses and safety and security of journalists in the country.

Telangana Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud Telangana State Planning Board vice-chairman B Vinod will address the two-day meeting to begin on Saturday at Tourism Plaza in Begumpet. The Telangana State Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) is hosting the meeting.
