Hyderabad in race to host Asia Football Cup 2027

Hyderabad: The city of Hyderabad is in the race to host a few matches of the AFC Asia Cup 2027 if FIFA grants the event to India. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has announced the bid to host the prestigious event soon and Hyderabad will be in contention along with a few other cities as the venues.

“The AIFF delegation has visited the city and saw the venue Gachibowli Stadium. The tournament requires four more training facilities and we have Gymkhana, LB Stadium, Police stadium and Srinidhi School ground. The team was happy with the facilities,” revealed Telangana Football Association secretary G Palguna.

India has hosted FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2017 and the county is also confirmed as the host for 2022 AFC Women’s Asia Cup and 2021 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
