Hyderabad: IS Sadan police seize ganja worth Rs 11.25 lakh, one held

IS Sadan police arrested a car driver in Hyderabad for possessing 45 kg of ganja worth Rs 11.25 lakh. The contraband was allegedly brought from Odisha. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act; one suspect is absconding

Hyderabad: A car driver was arrested by the IS Sadan police on Wednesday for allegedly possessing 45 kg of ganja worth Rs 11.25 lakhs.

The arrested person, Janapala Harikrishna (28), a resident of Yadadri district, worked as a car driver. According to the police, Harikrishna, along with his friend Thunam Aravind, purchased ganja in Odisha and brought it to the city. The duo planned to sell the contraband at a higher price and earn quick profits.

A case has been registered against Harikrishna under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. His accomplice Aravind is currently absconding.
