Hyderabad: Hyderabad is a key location for Delhivery, a third-party logistics express parcel delivery company, both in terms of logistics business as well as technology development.

A source said, “Technology development teams in Hyderabad and Seattle have been actively engaged in the development of Delhivery’s SaaS platform. In addition to technology development, Hyderabad is a key logistics hub and geographically at the heart of the country connecting south, east and west. The city is an important transit point.”

Pan-India Delhivery had a market share of 20 per cent of the overall e-commerce volumes (including captive players) for the first quarter of fiscal 2022. The express delivery segment has been driven by the growth of e-commerce and rising customer expectations for delivery speed.

The company has delivered more than one billion express parcel shipments since incorporation. The company’s shipment volume grew from 148.49 million orders in fiscal 2019 to 289.20 million orders in fiscal 2021 on an annual basis, representing a CAGR of 40 per cent. In the three months ended June 30, 2021, the company delivered 101.69 million shipments.

The company’s customers include e-commerce marketplaces, vertical e-commerce retailers, D2C brands, omni-channel retailers, SMEs, banks, and financial institutions.

The source added, Delhivery express parcel delivery network today serves majority of PIN codes in India and is seeing opportunities to cater to overseas markets such as Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. To expand its business, the company has made acquisitions in automation and drone companies.
