Hyderabad: A six-year-old girl who was kidnapped from Kanchanbagh on Monday was rescued by the police from Shadnagar. A woman was arrested in connection with the incident.
According to the police, the child was standing along with her mother Muskan at Chanchalguda when a woman approached her saying that a family was donating clothes to poor people at Hafeezbabanagar. Believing her, Muskan along with the child went to Hafeezbabanagar in an auto-rickshaw.
“The kidnapper, later identified as Asiya Bee, asked Muskan to leave the girl with her and to go to a particular house in the area. When the mother left the spot, Asiya Bee fled with the child,” DCP (South) Gajarao Bhupal said, adding that Muskan then approached the police who registered a case and started efforts to trace the girl.
“Six teams were formed and after analysing footage from surveillance cameras, we tracked them down to Farooqnagar. The girl was rescued and the woman was arrested,” he said.
