Hyderabad: A daily wage labourer, who decided to become self-sufficient for his marijuana needs and nurtured a marijuana plant in his house, was arrested on Friday.
According to the RGIA police, the man, identified as Rajput (30), a daily wage worker from Uttar Pradesh, was staying in a rented house in Rudra Colony in Shamshabad. Rajput was allegedly addicted to marijuana and for the last four months, was secretly growing a marijuana plant in his backyard. The plant, which had grown nearly five feet, was providing him his regular diet of marijuana, police said, adding that following tip-off, a raid was conducted in the presence of Revenue officials.
The police found the plant during the raid and seized it, after which Rajput was arrested.
