Hyderabad: Man arrested for using fake vehicle registration number
Vikarabad police arrested a 46-year-old man for allegedly using a fake vehicle registration number on his motorcycle to avoid traffic challans. The fraud came to light after the actual vehicle owner received repeated penalties, prompting a police investigation using surveillance footage.

Hyderabad: The Vikarabad police arrested a man for allegedly using a fake registration number and cheating the government.
The man Mohd Khayyum (46), a resident of Pudur mandal in Vikarabad district, owned a bike bearing registration number AP28AZ1087 and, to avoid traffic challans, prepared a registration number plate bearing number AP28DK4592 that belongs to some other individual’s vehicle and fixed it onto his vehicle.
After the owner of the vehicle AP28DK4592 started receiving challans for traffic violations. He approached the traffic police, who then checked the surveillance camera network and found that one person, Mohd Khayyum, was using the vehicle registration number fraudulently.
A case was registered, and Khayyum was tracked down and arrested.
