Hyderabad: The Chilkalguda police on Thursday nabbed one person on charges of snatching an elderly woman’s gold chain. A pawn broker, who bought the stolen chain too, was held.

Police said the suspect Rahul Maske (21), whose wife is a resident of Hyderabad, had reached the Kachiguda railway station by train on Tuesday morning. After coming out of the station, he stole a parked motorcycle. Using the same bike, he snatched the gold chain of the victim at Warasiguda. He then sold the 7.2 gram gold chain to Manish Kumar Jain, a pawn broker.

The CCTV footage from the crime spot was used to identify him and he was caught while moving near the Secunderabad Railway Station, police said, adding that the chain and the bike were recovered.
