Hyderabad: Man held for manufacturing adulterated engine oil

Shaik Qayyum of Begum Bazaar used to manufacture adulterated oil under popular brand names and sell it to automobile lubricant dealers

Hyderabad: The Task Force (South) team along with Mirchowk Police nabbed a man on charges of manufacturing adulterated engine oils and selling it to automobile lubricant dealers on Friday.

Officials seized about 710 litres of adulterated engine oil worth Rs 3 lakh.

Police said the suspect Shaik Qayyum of Feelkhana in Begum Bazaar, who earlier worked at an automobile shop, gained knowledge in automobile field. As his earnings seemed meagre, he decided to manufacture adulterated oil under popular brand names and sell it in markets.

Following a tip-off, his godown was raided and he was nabbed.
