Hyderabad man held for using fake number plate, cheating vehicle owner

Hyderabad police arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly using a fake number plate belonging to another vehicle, causing wrongful traffic challans to be issued. A case was registered in Saidabad after the affected owner filed a complaint.

Hyderabad: A case is registered by the Hyderabad police against a vehicle owner for using a registration number allotted to another vehicle owner and cheating the authorities.

The man Syed Hussain Mehdi, (22) a resident of Chanchalguda had purchased a two wheeler in 2019 and did not get it registered so far.

Instead he affixed a number plate bearing registration number TS11 EK 0593 which was allotted to another vehicle belonging to Mohd Ibrahim of Tallabkatta. Ibrahim, was receiving challans for traffic violations that he had not committed and approached the police.

On a complaint from Ibrahim, the Saidabad police registered a case and with the help of traffic police identified the vehicle and arrested him.
