Hyderabad: Man loses Rs 1.4 lakh for black fungus drug

Police said the victim, a resident of Kukatpally, was in need of Amphotericin injections for his family members and was cheated of Rs 1.4 lakh by fraudsters in the guise of selling those injections online.

Hyderabad: A private employee from the city was cheated of Rs 1.4 lakh by fraudsters in the guise of selling Amphotericin B injections online.

Police said the victim, a resident of Kukatpally, was in need of Amphotericin injections for his family members who were infected with black fungus.

“He got a contact number through his friends, and when he called the number, the person promised to provide injections at a lower rate and collected money citing various reasons,” police said, adding that once the money was sent online, the person switched off the phone.

A case has been booked and investigation is on.
