Hyderabad marks Hanuman Jayanthi with huge processions

City Police Commissioner, CV Anand along with the officials of the Hyderabad City Police visited Ram Mandir at Gowliguda and other places on the procession route and inspected the security arrangements.

Hyderabad: The Veer Hanuman Jayanthi procession that commenced from the Ram Mandir Gowliguda on Saturday morning traversed through different areas of the city to head for Hanuman temple at Tadban Secunderabad.

City Police Commissioner, C V Anand along with the officials of the Hyderabad City Police visited Ram Mandir at Gowliguda and other places on the procession route and inspected the security arrangements.


Thousands of people carrying saffron flags are participating in the procession. The main procession passed through Koti, Sultan Bazaar, Ram Kote cross roads, Kachiguda, YMCA Narayanguda, Chikkadpally and Musheerabad.

The process will further traverse through Gandhinagar, Tank Bund, Bansilalpet, Paradise Hotel Secunderabad, Bowenpally and reach Tadban Hanuman temple in evening.

Several small processions from different parts of the city are joining the main procession at different places. A big procession from Karmanghat joined the main procession at Koti.

The police are monitoring the procession using drone cameras and through the surveillance camera network from the Command and Control Centre, Banjara Hills.

Later in the evening, the Sri Veera Hanuman Vijaya Yatra ended peacefully and incident-free amidst tight police security.

The Vijaya Yatras under Rachakonda and Cyberabad Police Commissionerates left early and joined the main procession at Gowli Guda. As a precautionary measure, arrangements have been made to ensure that no untoward incident occurred.

“The processions were being monitored through CCTVs and drone cameras under Joint Command Control Room in Banjara Hills. A total of 17,000 police personnel and additional armed forces were deployed. Around 200 processions were taken out on the day,” the Commissioner said.
