Several tributary processions including one led by BJP legislator, T Raja Singh joined the main procession en-route. The entire route was decorated with saffron flags and buntings and at several places, big banners and hoardings displaying photographs of the local organizers and political leaders were put up.

Folk artists from different parts of the country enthralled the participants with their performances on the procession route.

Braving the scorching sun thousands of youngsters holding big flags and wearing saffron caps and turbans participated. Women and children lined up on the procession route to have a glimpse of the giant sized idols of deities and freedom fighters that were the highlight of the procession.

Local youth associations set up camps and served free drinking water and soft drinks to the participants. Food camps were also organised at a few places where meals were provided to the people from afternoon until late in the evening.

Senior police officials monitored the procession from the field and the ICCC Building at Banjara Hills. Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, C V Anand monitored the procession from the Siddiamber Bazaar junction along with the other officials of the city police.

In other areas the policemen drawn from various units were deployed to oversee the security arrangements. Police pickets were posted in all communally sensitive locations in the city to ensure no untoward incidents are reported.
