Hyderabad Mayor celebrates birthday with cancer patients
Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi distributed fruits to patients undergoing treatment at Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital hospital’s paediatric and Aarogyasri wards and interacted with them
Hyderabad: Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi celebrated her birthday on Monday with cancer patients at Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (BIACH & RI). During the visit, the Mayor also distributed fruits to patients undergoing treatment at the hospital’s paediatric and Aarogyasri wards and interacted with them.
Actor and chairman of BIACH&RI, Nandamuri Balakrishna welcomed the Mayor and presented a special saree to her, before the Mayor took part in a cake-cutting ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Vijayalakshmi appreciated the efforts of doctors and staff members at the hospital, and also thanked Balakrishna for extending wishes and welcoming her.
Balakrishna appreciated the Mayor’s efforts towards serving the public and emphasised on the importance of women in the society. The actor also thanked Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao for waiving off Rs 5.75 crore levied on the hospital earlier.Senior board members of BIACH&RI, patients, their relatives and doctors were present.
