Hyderabad: A medical shop at Alwal, Medchal-Malkajgiri district, being operated without any drug license and permissions was seized by Telangana State Drugs Control Administration (TSDCA). Stocks of medicines that were being sold illegally without a valid drug license were also seized.

The DCA said that the raid was part of an ongoing effort to curb the unauthorized sale of pharmaceutical products and ensure public safety. The unlicensed medical shop was found to be storing and selling drugs in violation of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.

The DCA has urged the public to verify the legitimacy of medical shops and pharmacies before purchasing medicines. Information related to registration of all medical shops is available in the ‘Third-Party Verification’ feature available on the ODLS (Online Drug Licensing System) Portal of TSDCA (https://dca.telangana.gov.in).

The third party verification feature allows consumers and stakeholders to verify whether a wholesaler, distributor, or medical shop/pharmacy in Telangana holds a valid drug license.
