Hyderabad Metro enables priority medical transit for time-critical heart and lung transportation

Hyderabad Metro Rail facilitated the priority transport of a donor heart and lungs from CARE Hospitals in Gachibowli to KIMS Hospitals in Secunderabad. The organs travelled 14 km across 13 stations in 25 minutes through coordinated efforts with healthcare professionals

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail facilitated a priority medical transit to support the time-sensitive transportation of a donor heart and lungs from CARE Hospitals, Gachibowli, to KIMS Hospitals, Minister Road, Secunderabad.

The mission on Saturday enabled the transfer of the donor heart and lungs from CARE Hospitals, Gachibowli, to KIMS Hospitals, Minister Road, Secunderabad. The metro transit was from Raidurg Metro Station to Rasoolpura Metro Station, covering a distance of 14 km across 13 stations in 25 minutes, from 11.40 am to 12.05 pm.

The transit was carried out through seamless operational coordination, ensuring the timely movement of the donor organs during a critical phase of the transplantation process. The mission was carried out through close coordination between Hyderabad Metro Rail, healthcare professionals and hospital authorities, reinforcing Hyderabad Metro’s role in supporting time-critical medical interventions, a press release said.
