launching nine divisional-level Clues teams on Friday.
Hyderabad: The Clues and Fingerprint teams will play a crucial role in scientific investigation, thereby ensuring a better conviction rate in the future, Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar said here on Friday.
Speaking after launching nine divisional-level Clues teams and three fingerprint units along with equipment for them, he said the Clues and fingerprint units were strengthened for improving quality in collection of scientific clues from the scene of offence and to reach the spot faster to preserve and collect crucial clues to aid in scientific investigation, thereby ensuring conviction to the accused.
Previously, three zonal Clues team were functioning in Madhapur, Balanagar and Shamshabad zones and now nine new divisional level CLUES teams were established in Madhapur, Miyapur, Kukatpally, Petbasheerabad, Balanagar, Shamshabad, Rajendranagar, Chevella and Shadnagar divisions.
Previously, one fingerprint unit was functioning in entire Cyberabad and now this has been augmented to three units. Each Clues team consists of four forensic experts, two photographers-cum-videographers and two drivers. Each fingerprint unit consists of a fingerprint expert, four police constables trained in fingerprint lifting and other related works and two drivers.
The teams will work 24X7 in 12 hours shift. All the Clues team works under the sub-divisional ACP concerned while the fingerprint unit works under zonal DCP concerned. The equipment provided for nine Clues team were crime scene cordoning kit, digital camera, general crime scene kit, body fluid collection kit, computer, printer, etc., he added.
