Hyderabad: The Department of Surgical Gastroenterology & Robotic Sciences at Yashoda Hospitals, Hitec City, hosted the inaugural edition of GI FOCUS, a first-of-its-kind academic conference dedicated to Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancers with a spotlight on Esophageal and Gastric cancers.

The event brought together over 500 surgeons from the fields of surgical gastroenterology, surgical oncology, and general surgery across India.


GI FOCUS (Gastrointestinal Focus on Oncology, Care, and Surgical Strategies) is a curated clinical-academic platform designed to bridge clinical innovation and real-world relevance in gastrointestinal cancer management, focusing on Upper GI cancers, i.e., Stomach and Esophageal cancers.

Dr G S Rao, Managing Director of Yashoda Group of Hospitals, said, “This academic initiative reflects Yashoda Hospitals’ dedication to providing cutting-edge patient care in Surgical Gastroenterology—not only through advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgical excellence, but also through academic leadership.”
