Hyderabad NGO VOICE4GIRLS hosts camps to empower 900 girls with life skills and confidence
The camp educates girls on topics such as puberty, menstrual health, basic rights, and protection from violence. It encourages them to reflect on societal and cultural standards of strength, beauty, and gender roles. Participants are guided to explore simple solutions for overcoming challenges and resolving conflicts. Hyderabad: In a unique attempt at reaching out to adolescent girls and empower them with essential life skills, a city-based voluntary organization VOICE4GIRLS is conducting educational camps titled ‘Parichay’ for girls of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society / Junior College (TGSWREIS/JC).
As a part of the first phase of this initiative, for the next 10-days, the NGO will conduct ‘Parichay’ for 900 girls at 12 TGSWREIS (G) schools in Telangana. At present, Parichay initiative is underway at TGSWREIS school for girls at Chevella.
During the camp, girls learn about puberty, menstrual health, basic rights, and safety from violence. They are encouraged to introspect standards of strength, beauty, and gender as culture and society dictate. The girls are encouraged to think about simple ways to overcome challenges and resolve conflicts. The camp is packed with fun-filled energizers and activities, making the students leave the camp feeling more confident about themselves, their bodies, and the future that awaits them, a press release said.

The Executive Director, VOICE4GIRLS Anusha Bharadwaj says “It is an immense pleasure for us to be able to cater to adolescent girls and enable them to take charge of their futures. As VOICE’s roots continue to reach the crevices of the communities, its impact and purpose becomes clearly visible in the sector.”
Senior officials from TGSWREIS, Chevella pointed out that Parichay camp for girls has been a transformative experience for students, empowering them with essential knowledge, life skills, and confidence. “This initiative aligns with our mission to provide holistic education and uplift marginalized communities,” they said.
