Hyderabad: Noorinagar residents demand death penalty for father accused of killing ill son

Residents of Noorinagar in Bandlaguda staged a protest rally demanding capital punishment for Mohd Akbar, who allegedly killed his three-year-old son Anas and disposed of the body in the Musi river. The child, who had a congenital heart condition, was reportedly smothered before being stuffed into a bag.

Hyderabad: The residents of Noorinagar in Bandlaguda took out a rally on Tuesday demanding capital punishment for the man who allegedly smothered his son to death.

Mohd Akbar (37) had killed his three-year-old son Anas, who was suffering from congenital heart disease. He later stuffed the body of the child in a bag and dumped it into the Musi river on Saturday. The police arrested the accused and remanded him on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the locals took out a rally to condemn the heinous act. The residents met the Bandlaguda Inspector S Devender to demand capital punishment for their father.

Auto driver killed in tipper collision in Kothagudem

In a separate incident, an auto rickshaw driver was killed in a road accident at the 3 Incline area here on Tuesday.

The incident occurred when the deceased, K Venu Gopal (49), a resident of Hanuman Basthi in the town, was going on a motorbike. A speeding coal tipper rammed into the bike from behind, causing severe injuries.

He was rushed to the Government General Hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries while undergoing care. Two-Town Circle Inspector Pratap visited the spot and registered a case based on a complaint filed by the deceased man’s wife.
