Hyderabad: Not knowing how to swim, kids drown in lake

While playing, the trio decided to go to the lake. After reaching the water body, though none of them knew swimming, they got into the water and drowned.

Hyderabad: Three children accidentally drowned in a lake at Kolathur in Shamirpet on the city outskirts on Friday afternoon. They are suspected to have gone to swim in the lake but drowned as they did not know how to swim, police said.

The children identified as Harsha, Manikanta and Manoj, all three friends from Shamirpet belonged to the same neighbourhood. As the school was closed for Dasara vacation, they were playing near Harsha’s house.

The Shamirpet police retrieved the bodies and took up the investigation.
