Hyderabad: Over 300 children participate in children’s eye care awareness walk at LVPEI

Hyderabad: Over 300 children along with their parents participated in a children’s eye care awareness walk with the theme ‘Childhood Cataract’ at LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), Hyderabad on Sunday.

The special walk, which is part of week-long initiative to spread awareness on childhood eye care concluding on Children’s Day on November 14, was aimed to raise awareness early detection and treatment.


The special walk also featured music directed S Thaman and actor Vishva Karthikya, who flagged-off the walk.

Expressing his pleasure at being made a part of the awareness initiative, Thaman urged parents to conduct preventive tests at an early age, which will ensure their children to see clearly.

Speaking on the occasion, Vishva Karthikeya said kids too have the problem of cataract of eye develops between the ages of 6 to 8 years. Kids are the future of our country and it is our responsibility to ensure they are healthy”.

Dr Ramesh Kekunnaya, Head, Child Sight Institute, LVPEI, Dr Prashant Garg, Executive Chairman, LVPEI and others were present.
